Hi Everybody! I'm so excited I can hardly wait! Thanks for your votes - Sedona, Hiking and Southern Rock are the winners! Dog, oh dog, this is going to be an awesome adventure! We've been working on our packing lists. It's only for one night, but some things dogs can't live without!

Lola: Milk Thistle pills, Vitamin E supplements, monkey arm, harness, leash, food, sling (so she can be carried)

Tilly: Outbound Hound back pack, water canteen, leash, Garmin (GPS), trail mix, brush, bowls, poop bags, iPod, money, ID, phone, phone charger, camera, camera battery charger, postage stamps

Do you want us to send you a postcard from Sedona?! We would love to send you, your kids, or even your pet greetings from the road! Just email us your address to TillyandLola@gmail.com. It goes without barking [saying] that all addresses are kept confidential and used only for postcards!

Final Poll - Playlist

Score! She booked it! Lola can thank me for behaving so well this past week. Watch out Sedona and El Portal - here we come!

We head out next weekend. Hiking edged out geocaching by garnering 45% of the votes. We are psyched - there are tons of dog friendly trails there, it's going to be hard to pick. I want to head to a vortex, Lola wants to see Oak Creek. It's a good thing we'll have plenty of time for both. My mom said not to worry about the distance because she's bringing a sling to carry Lola if (when!) she gets tired. We even found a specialty bakery for dogs that we're going to check out.

Our final poll is for tunes! No roadtrip is complete without some great music. We like lots of genres, so pick your fave and we won't be disappointed. Since music is so important, we offer some examples for each.

  • Old School Country - think Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash
  • Elvis - think Elvis
  • British Pop - think Coldplay, Keane, Oasis
  • Beatles - think Beatles
  • Southern Rock - think Lynyrd Skynyrd, CCR, Kings of Leon
We'll have at least one more post before our trip that involves you. Everyone who participates will get something personalized from us, so check back over the next few days and you'll see what I mean! :)

Conditioning

It looks like hiking is in the lead with 50% of the votes. We decided that we need to start conditioning for Sedona by going on really long walks. We've lucked out with the weather, it's been pretty cool here the past few days. As the oldest, I get to wear my Outbound Hound back pack. It holds the poop bags, water, bowl and my mom's keys. It's pretty sweet and I like to strut like the important dog I am when wearing it. My mom says it reminds her of the vest she wore when she was a crossing guard as a kid...whatever that means (rolling eyes). It's been nice to check out different parts of the neighborhood. Apparently there's lots of dogs around here so, of course, I have to pee every 50 feet so they know who's boss.
